The Before/After School Programs are offered to all children in grades K-5.
The Programs are operated by the Town of Holden Recreation Department. We are invited guests in the schools, and do not work for the Wachusett School District. Please direct all Before & After school questions, or concerns to Holden Recreation Staff.
The Department of Early Education and Care Licenses these Child Care Programs.
If your child was not in the Before/After or All Day Summer Programs previously, you must complete the Child Enrollment Package listed below. These forms must be returned to the office by July 28th.
If your child has any allergies or is on any medication please let us know and also fill out the attached medication forms. Medication must be brought to the office in its original container with the completed paperwork at least one week prior to the child's start date of the program.
If you are registering your child for the Before and After School Program AFTER Tuesday, August 22, 2023, you must call the office for availability and instructions.
General Information
~~BEFORE SCHOOL PROGRAM~~
*The morning program runs from 7:30 to 9:00 A.M. If there is a delay in the start of school, the Before School Program is cancelled.
*If the school is closed due to inclement weather, Holiday’s, Vacations or Professional Days, the Before & After Programs will not run.
*Juice or water will be provided to all children in the morning.
*The ratio of staff to children is at least 1:13.
*Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
*The Department of Early Education and Care licenses these programs.
*Each school is licensed for 52 children.
*Child care fees are due one month in advance on the 1st Thursday of every month. Payment due dates are as follows; Sept 7, October 5, November 2, December 7, January 4, February 1, March 7, April 4, May 2.
* If you are one week past due for any payment your child will be terminated from the program.
*A minimum of 1 month notice is required for withdrawal from the Before/After School Programs. Withdrawal deadlines are as follows; Sept 7, October 5, November 2, December 7, January 4, February 1, March 7, April 4, May 2.
~~AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM~~
*The afternoon program operates from school dismissal until 6:00 P.M. If there is an early dismissal, the After School Program is cancelled.
*If the school is closed due to inclement weather, Holiday’s, Vacations or Professional Days, the Before & After Programs will not run.
*Juice and a snack will be provided in the afternoon.
*The ratio of staff to children is at least 1:13.
*Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
*The Department of Early Education and Care licenses these programs.
*Each school is licensed for 52 children.
*If your child is going to be absent from the After School Program, you must email the Recreation office before 2:00pm, at holdenrec@holdenma.gov so staff can be notified to not expect your child.
