The Before/After School Programs are offered to all children in grades K-5.
The Programs are operated by the Town of Holden Recreation Department. We are invited guests in the schools, and do not work for the Wachusett School District. Please direct all Before & After school questions, or concerns to Holden Recreation Staff.

Program time is from **8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.Children must be entering the first grade in order to attend this program.
Drop off and pick up is at Dawson Elementary School located at 155 Salisbury St.
Children will spend most afternoons at the pool, weather permitting, On rainy days, the program will remain at the school.
The All Day Program is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care. EEC Requires each child to have enrollment forms. No child can attend without them. Please see website for forms.
Activities Include: Arts & crafts, games, “special” weeks, outdoor activities, swimming lessons during weeks when classes are in session, and open swim time at the Holden Pool.Children need to bring: non-refrigerated lunch and water bottle, towel, sunscreen, and bathing suit. Children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack for the afternoon, or they may purchase refreshments from the “snack shack” at the pool.

Activities Include: Arts & crafts, games, “special” weeks, outdoor activities, swimming lessons during weeks when classes are in session, and open swim time at the Holden Pool.Children need to bring: non-refrigerated lunch and water bottle, towel, sunscreen, and bathing suit. Children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack for the afternoon, or they may purchase refreshments from the “snack shack” at the pool.

Feel Better Fitness Classes - Second Spring Session
Feel Better Fitness – Three SPRING SESSIONS How would you like to have some fun while learning easy ways to strengthen your muscles, bones and brain? Feel Better Fitness is a unique program designed around the needs and abilities of the over-55 demographic. Classes are part discussion and part movement. The small group size and pace are just right for individual attention as needed; the environment is safe and friendly. Taught by NASM-certified Senior Fitness Specialist Martha Ruch,classes include gentle stretching and mobility movements; balance practice; resistance and strength training using elastic bands, light kettlebells and dumbbells; goal setting; and general nutrition tips. All exercises may be modified based on participants’ individual abilities. Chairs are provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. Activities Include: Arts & crafts, games, “special” weeks, outdoor activities, swimming lessons during weeks when classes are in session, and open swim time at the Holden Pool.Children need to bring: non-refrigerated lunch and water bottle, towel, sunscreen, and bathing suit. Children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack for the afternoon, or they may purchase refreshments from the “snack shack” at the pool.

Feel Better Fitness Classes - Second Spring Session
Feel Better Fitness – Three SPRING SESSIONS How would you like to have some fun while learning easy ways to strengthen your muscles, bones and brain? Feel Better Fitness is a unique program designed around the needs and abilities of the over-55 demographic. Classes are part discussion and part movement. The small group size and pace are just right for individual attention as needed; the environment is safe and friendly. Taught by NASM-certified Senior Fitness Specialist Martha Ruch,classes include gentle stretching and mobility movements; balance practice; resistance and strength training using elastic bands, light kettlebells and dumbbells; goal setting; and general nutrition tips. All exercises may be modified based on participants’ individual abilities. Chairs are provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. The First Spring Session will run twice weekly in March, from Tues., March 12 – Thurs., March 28. Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1 pm. The cost for the 3-week program (6 classes) is $75. The Second Spring Session will run once weekly in April and May, from Tues., April 2 - Tues., May 21. Classes meet Tuesdays at 10 am. The cost for the 8-week program (8 classes) is $99. Program time is from **8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.Children must be entering the first grade in order to attend this program.
Drop off and pick up is at Dawson Elementary School located at 155 Salisbury St.
Children will spend most afternoons at the pool, weather permitting, On rainy days, the program will remain at the school.
The All Day Program is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care. EEC Requires each child to have enrollment forms. No child can attend without them. Please see website for forms.
Activities Include: Arts & crafts, games, “special” weeks, outdoor activities, swimming lessons during weeks when classes are in session, and open swim time at the Holden Pool.Children need to bring: non-refrigerated lunch and water bottle, towel, sunscreen, and bathing suit. Children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack for the afternoon, or they may purchase refreshments from the “snack shack” at the pool.

Feel Better Fitness – Three SPRING SESSIONS How would you like to have some fun while learning easy ways to strengthen your muscles, bones and brain? Feel Better Fitness is a unique program designed around the needs and abilities of the over-55 demographic. Classes are part discussion and part movement. Feel Better Fitness Classes - Second Spring Session
Feel Better Fitness – Three SPRING SESSIONS How would you like to have some fun while learning easy ways to strengthen your muscles, bones and brain? Feel Better Fitness is a unique program designed around the needs and abilities of the over-55 demographic. Classes are part discussion and part movement. The small group size and pace are just right for individual attention as needed; the environment is safe and friendly. Taught by NASM-certified Senior Fitness Specialist Martha Ruch,classes include gentle stretching and mobility movements; balance practice; resistance and strength training using elastic bands, light kettlebells and dumbbells; goal setting; and general nutrition tips. All exercises may be modified based on participants’ individual abilities. Chairs are provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. The First Spring Session will run twice weekly in March, from Tues., March 12 – Thurs., March 28. Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1 pm. The cost for the 3-week program (6 classes) is $75. All Day Program - All Day Program Registration Fee
Program time is from **8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.Children must be entering the first grade in order to attend this program.
Drop off and pick up is at Dawson Elementary School located at 155 Salisbury St.
Children will spend most afternoons at the pool, weather permitting, On rainy days, the program will remain at the school.
The All Day Program is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care. EEC Requires each child to have enrollment forms. No child can attend without them. Please see website for forms.
Activities Include: Arts & crafts, games, “special” weeks, outdoor activities, swimming lessons during weeks when classes are in session, and open swim time at the Holden Pool.Children need to bring: non-refrigerated lunch and water bottle, towel, sunscreen, and bathing suit. Children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack for the afternoon, or they may purchase refreshments from the “snack shack” at the pool.
